Michaela is a therapist who applies the solution-focused approach in her counseling practice. She works with adult and adolescent clients from the age of 13 in the form of individual, couple, family and group therapy. She is most often approached by people who desire changes in their lives related to stress, anger, self-love and self-confidence, motivation, couples or parenting issues. People she works with often go through various life changes, whether it is by their choice or not. She focuses on supporting mental health in people with psychosocial disabilities, especially mental illness, intellectual disability or autism.
Michaela has her counseling practice since 2021 and uses solution-focused brief therapy that agrees with her focus on the future and belief in people's ability to make useful changes and shape their own lives according to their own values and desires. She enjoys being creative using metaphors and analogies, imagery and stories. She helps people create connections that they were previously unaware of. Her values are respect and trust for people and accepting people as they are. Her endeavor in therapy is to co-create new perspectives and develop hope for a better life. She cares about people and their well-being. She consults in Czech and English.
Michaela received her Master's Degree from Central European Studies at the Faculty of Public Policy at the Silesian University in Opava. She also studied Coaching, Mentoring and Leadership at EDU Effective (MBA), Pedagogical Studies for Secondary School and 2nd Grade Elementary School Teachers at the University of Ostrava in Ostrava, Social Work and Social Pedagogy at the Higher Vocational School of Social Sciences in Ostrava - Mariánské Hory. She is currently studying Social Work at the University of Ostrava in Ostrava (B.Sc.). She has also deepened her education through training and courses: Solution Focus Psychotherapy - comprehensive training in solution-focused psychotherapy, Solution-Focused Supervision and Coaching (Dalet), SF Mentoring for Helping Professionals - support and accompaniment in the development of oneself and one's profession (Dalet), Accredited Professional Coach (Koučink Centrum), Conflict Resolution Through Mediation Techniques (Association of Mediators of the Czech Republic) and many other courses and trainings. She is a candidate member of the Czech Association for Psychotherapy, a member of the Czech Association for Supervision, the Society of Social Workers of the Czech Republic and the Professional Chamber of Social Workers.
