Dana studied psychology at the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic. During her studies, she spent several years abroad, specifically at the Universidad de La Laguna in Tenerife and the Universidad de Deusto in Spain. In her final work, she focused on the connection between surfing and therapy, while developing this topic further in her dissertation. She also presented her research at international conferences, including the 7th International Conference on Sport & Society in Honolulu (USA); Sport Psychology in Practice in Brno (Czech Republic), or at the 8th International Conference on Sport & Society in London (UK), where she won the Emerging Scholar Award.

She also practiced surf therapy in the organization The Wave Project in Newquay (UK), worked as a school psychology, and taught organizational psychology and group social-psychological training. She has completed the long-term psychotherapy training in Process-Oriented Psychotherapy. Together with other experts, she formed a comprehensive Synergia Center – a space for therapy and development. She provides workshops and lectures, and as part of her private counseling practice, she works with adults, school-aged children and groups. With clients, she tries to find ways to open up and process difficult topics, and helps them navigate their own emotions, needs and desires. She consults in Slovak and English.
